Lincoln Tunnel Traffic On The Move Again Following Bus/Car Accident

Early Wednesday morning a Bieber Bus Company bus going east in the express lane collided with a car going west in the far left lane on Route 495 helix near the Lincoln Tunnel in Weehawken, reports nj.com.  The driver of the car was taken to Jersey City Medical Center in serious but stable condition, and four bus passengers suffered minor injuries.  Police are still investigating the bus/car accident.

Afternoon Multi-Car Accident Snarls Newark Traffic

Route 280 in Newark was the scene of a multi-car accident Tuesday afternoon which injured several people and slowed rush hour traffic, reports nj.com.  The accident happened about 3:45 p.m. near the First Street overpass. The police are investigating the incident and believe a white Mercury Marquis seen leaving the scene may have caused the crash.

Long Beach Woman Killed In Single-Car Crash

A 22-year-old woman is dead and the driver of her car is critically injured after their car slammed into a wall and flipped over, reports the Long Beach Post.   Darlene Rosemary Monarrez was one of three passengers in the vehicle driven by a man who lost control of his vehicle around 1:00 a.m.  All four people had to be extricated from the vehicle by firefighters.  The other two passengers were not seriously injured.  Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.

Batavia, Ill. High School Student Killed In Accident

Lynlee Gilbert lost control of her 1989 Dodge sedan and smashed into a tree late Monday, killing herself and critically injuring her 18-year-old passenger, reports WLS-TV.  Both girls attended Batavia High School and were to graduate on June 3.  Police are trying to determine why the car left the road near a curb, crossed southbound traffic and struck the tree.  It is not known if drugs or alcohol were involved.

One Dies In Washington I-5 Crash

A woman was rescued from the cold Lewis River following a four-car accident which killed a 62-year old man.  According to TDN.com, a car spun out of control while crossing the I-5 bridge over the Lewis River in Woodland and two brothers in a second car stopped to help.  One was killed instantly when he was struck by a third car.  A fourth car stopped and a woman got out and was either struck by another vehicle or jumped over the bridge guardrail to avoid getting hit and landed in the river below which was about 50 degrees.  She was taken to the hospital where she appeared to be stable.
