When you’re searching for a personal injury lawyer, credentials are not a marketing checklist. They are proof that a firm can go up against a trucking company’s legal team, an insurance carrier’s defense counsel, or a hospital’s malpractice attorneys and come out ahead. Munley Law’s attorneys have earned that proof through board certifications, peer-reviewed rankings, and national leadership roles built over more than six decades of practice.

Best Lawyers® and Best Law Firms® Recognition

All 10 of Munley Law’s attorneys were named to the 2026 edition of The Best Lawyers in America®, across practice areas including medical malpractice, personal injury litigation, product liability, workers’ compensation, and insurance law. Best Lawyers has been the definitive peer-review guide to legal excellence since 1983. Attorneys cannot pay for inclusion. Recognition comes only from peer review on professional expertise, followed by a verification process to confirm each lawyer is still in active practice and in good standing.

Two of the firm’s newer attorneys, Mackenzie Wilson and Jack Cartwright, were named to the 2026 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® list, the honor reserved for standout attorneys early in their careers.

That same peer recognition carried into Best Law Firms®. Munley Law earned a Regional Tier 1 ranking for Northeastern Pennsylvania in five practice areas for 2026: personal injury litigation, workers’ compensation, medical malpractice, product liability, and insurance law. A firm ranked Tier 1 in five separate practice areas is not winning by accident in just one of them, and insurance adjusters price that into every settlement offer they make.

Board Certifications and Specialty Credentials

Marion Munley, Daniel W. Munley, and Katie Nealon are board-certified in Truck Accident Law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. That makes Munley Law the only law firm in Pennsylvania with three board-certified truck accident attorneys.

Marion Munley and Daniel W. Munley, along with J. Christopher Munley and John M. Mulcahey, hold National Board of Trial Advocacy certifications in Civil Trial Law and Civil Practice Advocacy.

Board certification requires documented trial experience, peer and judicial references, and a written examination, a bar few attorneys clear. That certification carries weight where it matters most: at the negotiating table. Insurance companies know a board-certified truck accident lawyer will take a case to trial if the offer is not fair. That knowledge alone leads to stronger settlement offers before a case ever reaches a courtroom.

Certification runs beyond trucking cases, too. Caroline Munley is a Pennsylvania Bar Association certified workers’ compensation specialist. That credential requires demonstrated expertise, peer recognition, and a written exam, and it is held by only a small number of attorneys in the state.

National Leadership and Invitation-Only Honors

Beyond individual certifications, several Munley Law attorneys hold national leadership positions that shape the practice of trucking litigation nationwide. Marion Munley currently serves as Vice President of the American Association for Justice (AAJ). She previously chaired the AAJ’s Trucking Litigation Group, the first woman to hold that position.

Daniel Munley also chaired the AAJ’s Trucking Litigation Group. He received the Ring of Honor Award for his contributions to trucking safety and advocacy.

Both attorneys received the Robert W. Munley Pursuit of Justice Award, an AAJ Trucking Litigation Group honor named for the firm’s founder. It goes to attorneys who have advanced trucking law and highway safety through nationwide legal advocacy.

That national standing extends into some of the legal profession’s most selective membership groups. Marion Munley belongs to the Summit Council, which requires at least one $10 million jury verdict and three $1 million-plus verdicts as lead counsel. Membership also requires service as president of a civil justice association or chair of a mass tort steering committee.

Marion Munley is a Senior Fellow, and Caroline Munley a Fellow, of the Litigation Counsel of America, an honor society whose members represent less than one half of one percent of American lawyers. Marion Munley and Caroline Munley are also Fellows of the International Society of Barristers, an honor nominated by existing Fellows through a rigorous screening process.

Lawdragon Recognition

The clearest sign of how far that reputation reaches nationally came in January 2026. Marion Munley was inducted into the Lawdragon Hall of Fame, joining just 103 attorneys nationwide recognized for decades of sustained impact on the law. The Hall of Fame, now in its 11th year, honors attorneys who have advocated, advised, argued, and analyzed on behalf of clients for at least 40 years. “This is an incredible honor that reflects not just my work, but the dedication of our entire team at Munley Law,” Marion Munley said of the induction.

That same team earned its own recognition two months later. Caroline Munley, Daniel Munley, J. Christopher Munley, and Robert Munley III were named to the 2026 Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America list, now in its twenty-first year. Lawdragon singled out Munley Law by name in announcing the honorees, describing the firm as “America’s first family of trucking.”

Rising Stars and the Next Generation

Munley Law’s bench extends well past its five partners. Jack Cartwright was named a 2026 Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Star, an honor given to fewer than 2.5 percent of attorneys in the state. He first earned that recognition in 2024. Best Lawyers also named him to its Ones to Watch list for both 2025 and 2026, and the Legal Aid Society recognized him with its Pro Bono Publico Award in 2021.

Mackenzie Wilson holds her own Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch recognition for 2026. She has also received the American Association for Justice’s Excellence Award and the Above and Beyond Award through its New Lawyers Division, as well as the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 Civil Plaintiff Attorneys honor.

Additional Recognition

Munley Law’s credentials reach beyond any single ranking system. All five partners hold Martindale-Hubbell’s AV Preeminent rating, the directory’s highest rating for legal ability and ethical standing. Daniel Munley holds Martindale-Hubbell’s Platinum Client Champion Award, and Caroline Munley its Silver Client Champion Award.

That same standing shows up in the National Trial Lawyers Association’s rankings. All five partners rank among the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in Pennsylvania. Marion Munley and Daniel Munley are ranked as Top 10 Trucking Trial Lawyers.

Caroline Munley ranks among the Top 25 Medical Malpractice Trial Lawyers and Top 25 Women Trial Lawyers in Pennsylvania. J. Christopher Munley ranks among the Top 25 Motor Vehicle Trial Lawyers.

The Legal Intelligencer, the oldest daily law journal in the United States, named Marion Munley a Pennsylvania Trailblazer. All five partners were also named to the Irish Legal 100, an annual list honoring accomplished Irish American and Irish-born legal professionals. Robert Munley III, Caroline Munley, and Marion Munley are members of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a group reserved for attorneys who have won million- and multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements.

Individually, each of these honors says something about one attorney’s skill. Together, they say something about the firm a client is actually hiring.

A Legacy Built by Robert W. Munley

Every credential above builds on a foundation Robert W. Munley set in 1959, when he founded what is now Munley Law. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a graduate of the University of Scranton and Temple University School of Law, Bob Munley served as a Lackawanna County assistant district attorney for a decade. He then moved into private civil practice with his brother, the late Senior U.S. District Judge James M. Munley.

“Growing up, we learned from our father that every case was about more than compensation,” Marion Munley said. “It was about accountability and safety. That philosophy guides everything we do.”
