Munley Law has an outstanding, full-time opportunity for a Legal Nurse Consultant in our office located in downtown Scranton. This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join a successful firm, offering challenging work within a professional legal practice.
In this new role, you’ll become an integral part of our team playing a vital role in medical record and document review, summarization of records, and contributing to various litigation projects
Here is a snapshot of the role:
- Communicates with potential clients to obtain relevant information
- Identifies required medical records to be obtained from providers
- Organizes, indexes and manages medical records
- Prepares medical chronologies and prepares medical timelines
- Interprets medical records and translates medical terms, diagnoses, and treatment plans for attorney-client
- Provides concise medical summaries and recommendations
- Conducts medical research regarding case subject areas; including but not limited to – medical condition at issue in the case; the standard of care applicable to treatment; professional guidelines and practice regulations
- Evaluates causation and damages issues
- Participates in expert interviews and case strategy discussions
- Works collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals and staff
- Provides support during discovery, depositions, trial and other legal proceedings

- Flexibility and ability to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands
- Demonstrated attention to detail, reliability and ability to learn new technology quickly
The requirements for the job are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Must have a clinical background with a minimum of five (5) years experience
- Previous experience in a legal environment, preferred
- Proficient understanding and utilization of medical terminology, medical conditions, laboratory tests, and medications. Possess thorough understanding of medical condition to explain or illustrate a diagnosis.
