DAUPHIN COUNTY — 9-Year-Old Dies at Hersheypark Water Attraction
DAUPHIN COUNTY, PA (July 24, 2025) — A 9-year-old child died Thursday evening after an incident at The Boardwalk water park area at Hersheypark.
According to Hersheypark CEO John Lawn, the child “was tragically lost at The Boardwalk at Hersheypark” on Thursday evening. Lifeguards immediately recognized the child was in distress and performed an immediate rescue, followed by continuous life-saving efforts by lifeguards, on-site first responders, and medical personnel.
The child was transported to Milton S. Hershey Medical Center where, despite the life-saving efforts, the child was pronounced dead.
“Our hearts break for this child and the child’s family,” Lawn said in a statement. “We extend our deepest condolences for their loss. Out of respect for their privacy, we will not release any personal details at this time.”

DAUPHIN COUNTY — Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with Trash Truck on Route 322
DAUPHIN COUNTY, PA (July 24, 2025) — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a trash truck on Route 322 in Swatara Township yesterday morning.
The crash occurred just before 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, when a motorcycle and trash truck collided at the intersection of Witmer Drive and Paxton Street/Route 322 in Swatara Township. According to PennDOT, the motorcyclist was killed in the crash and their identity has not yet been released.
The trash truck driver was transported to Hershey Medical Center for medical evaluation. All westbound lanes of Paxton Street/Route 322 were closed between Chambers Hill and Mushroom Hill roads, causing significant delays for morning commuters. All lanes have since reopened.
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. The identity of the motorcyclist and the exact cause of the collision have not been released pending the ongoing investigation. […]

YORK COUNTY — Wrong-Way Driver Causes Fatal Crash on I-83, Kills Three
YORK COUNTY, PA (July 23, 2025) — Three people were killed and two others injured when a wrong-way driver collided head-on with a family’s SUV on Interstate 83 early this morning.
The crash occurred around 1:15 a.m. on I-83 northbound near Exit 4 in Shrewsbury Township. According to Pennsylvania State Police, a sedan traveling southbound in the northbound lanes struck a Honda Pilot SUV carrying a family of five returning from vacation.
The wrong-way driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers in the SUV, identified as a 45-year-old woman and her 16-year-old daughter, were also killed in the collision. The driver of the SUV and his 12-year-old son were transported to York Hospital with serious injuries, while an 8-year-old child in the vehicle sustained minor injuries.

LEHIGH COUNTY — Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Route 22, Driver Charged
LEHIGH COUNTY, PA (July 21, 2025) — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a pickup truck on Route 22 early this morning, and the driver has been charged with driving under the influence.
The crash occurred around 2:40 a.m. on Route 22 eastbound near the Fullerton exit in Whitehall Township. According to Pennsylvania State Police, a 34-year-old man was crossing the highway when he was struck by a pickup truck traveling at highway speed.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck, identified as Robert Jennings, 28, of Bethlehem, was arrested and charged with DUI, vehicular homicide, and reckless driving.
Police report that Jennings showed signs of impairment at the scene and failed field sobriety tests. He was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital for a blood draw before being taken into custody.
The eastbound lanes of Route 22 were closed between Cedar Crest Boulevard and the Fullerton exit for approximately three hours while emergency responders worked to clear the scene and conduct their investigation. […]

CHESTER COUNTY — Tractor-Trailer Rear-Ends SUV on I-95, Kills Two
CHESTER COUNTY, PA (July 18, 2025) — Two people were killed and one injured when a tractor-trailer rear-ended an SUV on Interstate 95 this morning.
The crash occurred around 9:30 a.m. on I-95 northbound near mile marker 12 in Ridley Township. According to Pennsylvania State Police, a fully loaded tractor-trailer failed to slow down for traffic that had backed up due to construction work ahead.
The truck struck a Honda Pilot SUV from behind, crushing the rear portion of the vehicle. Two passengers in the back seat of the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV was transported to Crozer-Chester Medical Center with serious injuries.
The truck driver was not injured in the crash. Initial investigations indicate the driver may have been distracted at the time of the collision.
