Premises liability is a legal theory holding property owners or occupiers responsible for injuries caused by unsafe conditions on their property, such as slip-and-fall hazards or inadequate security. To succeed on a claim, an injured person generally must show the owner knew or should have known about the hazard and failed to fix or warn about it.
