Berks County Heritage Center

The Heritage Center sits upon the Tulpehocken Creek and resides in a park that is enjoyed by many. There are many historical landmarks on the grounds: “Red Bridge,” also known as Wertz’s Covered Bridge, was built in 1867 and is the longest single span covered bridges in Pennsylvania. It is only used for pedestrian traffic. The Gruber Wagon Works and the Canal lectures and workshops are wonderful. This historical park has many trails and is not pet-friendly. The expansive grounds here comprise a hidden gem that has much to offer, trails, picnic areas, events, and educational tours.
