Is there a minimum personal injury settlement amount?
No. Pennsylvania does not set a universal minimum settlement for personal injury claims. Settlement value is driven by provable liability and damages, the defenses, available insurance or assets, and the costs and risks of continuing the case. Some valid claims have modest value; others involve catastrophic losses.
A settlement is voluntary, so an insurer does not have to offer a particular amount merely because a claim was submitted. The better question is whether an offer reasonably reflects the evidence, future losses, liens, comparative fault, and litigation risk. Never rely on an online average as a substitute for a case-specific evaluation.
