Motorcyclist Dies in Crash in Northeast Philadelphia

A 22-year-old motorcyclist died after colliding with a vehicle turning left in Northeast Philadelphia on October 26. According to news reports, the motorcyclist was speeding and weaving through traffic along Bustleton Avenue before running into the turning car. Police said four cars in total were involved in the accident as the car behind the turning vehicle was hit from behind.

The motorcyclist was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported.

The Dangers of Speeding in Philadelphia

This accident is a warning to avoid driving at high speeds on the crowded city streets of Philadelphia. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, speeding is one of the top causes of car accidents in the United States. Of the number of motorcyclists who died in 2022, 35% of those involved in fatal crashes were speeding.
