Wrong-Way Car Crash Leaves Multiple Injured in Cumberland County, PA
Multiple people were injured following a wrong-way crash along U.S. Route 15 in Cumberland County on January 18.
According to news reports, the accident occurred around 4:40 p.m. on the northbound side of the road. According to the Upper Allen Township Police Department, the vehicle had entered the northbound lanes near mile marker 41.5 and traveled south for at least four miles before the crash.
Police say the wrong-way driver struck at least four other vehicles around mile marker 37. As emergency personnel responded to the scene, both north and southbound sides of Route 15 were shut down.
Multiple people suffered serious injuries in the accident. According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, one person was flown to Penn State Hershey.
Police are investigating the crash.

Child in Critical Condition After Chain-Reaction Crash in Philadelphia
A 5-year-old was severely injured in a chain-reaction auto accident in the Bridesburg neighborhood of Philadelphia on January 13.
According to news reports, the accident occurred shortly before 9:20 p.m. at Aramingo Avenue and Wakeling Street. Police say three of the four vehicles involved were stopped at the red light when the striking vehicle going southbound on Aramingo Avenue rear-ended one or more vehicles, creating a chain reaction.
The striking vehicle was believed to be occupied by a mother and a 5-year-old child. Investigators state the child suffered severe brain injuries.
The child was rushed to St. Christopher’s Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition. He was the only one injured in the accident.

Uber Passenger Dies After Driver Crashes Into Tractor Trailer in Philadelphia
An Uber passenger died after her Uber driver crashed into a tractor trailer on December 31 in Philadelphia. Driver, 2 State Troopers Taken to Hospital After Pedestrian Accident in Pittsburgh
A driver and two Pennsylvania State Police troopers were taken to the hospital on December 24 in back-to-back car crashes on Parkway North in Pittsburgh.
According to news reports, state police were called out for a disabled car on I-279 near the East Street Exist at mile marker three just after midnight. Woman Killed in Car Accident Near Somerset, PA
A 37-year-old woman lost her life in a two-vehicle collision on Glades Pike in Somerset County, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
News reports state the woman was traveling eastbound on Route 31 when the crash occurred at approximately 7 a.m. on December 20 near the intersection of Pike School and Ringler roads in Brothersvalley Township.
Investigators report that the woman’s vehicle failed to navigate a right-hand curve, crossing into oncoming traffic in the westbound lane. Her vehicle collided head-on with a westbound vehicle. Following impact, both vehicles continued briefly in their respective directions before coming to a stop.

Man Dies in I-81 Crash in East Pennsboro Twp.
A 19-year-old died following a deadly crash on Interstate 81 in East Pennsboro Township on December 15. According to Pennsylvania State Police, the crash resulted from two vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed on I-81 near the Marysville/Enola and Wertzville Road exits.
Troopers say one of the cars had lost control and crossed all travel lanes into the left lane where another vehicle was traveling, also at a high rate of speed. The initial vehicle struck the second, causing that car to spin and roll over multiple times. The driver was ejected from the vehicle, and the car caught fire. Witnesses attempted to pull the driver away from the burning vehicle. The driver was later pronounced dead at the scene.
