Motorcycle vs. Commercial Vehicle Accidents in Pennsylvania

Navigating the aftermath of a car accident requires specialized legal knowledge. Insurance companies often attempt to minimize payouts, even in tragic circumstances.

Understanding the most frequent causes of motorcycle-commercial vehicle accidents can help raise awareness about preventable tragedies:

  • Visibility Issues: Motorcycles are harder to see, especially in low-light conditions like early morning or evening hours.
  • Blind Spots: Large commercial vehicles have significant blind spots where motorcycles can be completely hidden from view.
  • Size Differential: The massive size and weight difference between motorcycles and commercial trucks makes any collision potentially fatal.
  • Turning Movements: Commercial vehicles making turns often fail to see motorcycles in adjacent lanes or approaching intersections.
  • Following Too Closely: Motorcycles’ superior braking ability can catch commercial drivers off guard when traffic suddenly slows.
  • Driver Fatigue: Early morning hours when many commercial vehicles operate can coincide with driver fatigue periods.
