Ford Explorer drifts into oncoming lane causing fatal head-on car accident

Three Die in New York Accident
A head-on collision Monday morning between a Ford Explorer and a GMC Jimmy near Bethel, New York killed three people and injured one.  According to police, the Ford Explorer carrying two passengers, was heading east on 17B between White Lake and Fosterdale and drifted into the west bound lanes colliding with the GMC.  The driver of the GMC was wearing his seat belt and his airbag deployed, but he was pinned in the vehicle and died at the scene.  The driver of the Explorer and a back seat passenger, neither of which were wearing their seatbelts, were both ejected and died at the scene.  The front seat passenger was wearing his seatbelt and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

NY Man Arrested for Vehicular Manslaughter After Accident
A Freeport, New York man has been charged with first-degree vehicular manslaughter, driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation and fourth-degree possession of stolen property after he crashed in Nassau County Friday night.  The man was driving a Chevrolet Suburban at the intersection of North Main St. and Woodside Avenue when he crashed into a 24-year-old woman driving a BMW.  The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.  A passenger in her vehicle was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.  The driver of the Suburban suffered injuries to his lower leg.

GA Teen Dies in Fiery Crash
According to WCTV.tv, a Grady County, Georgia teenager died early Sunday morning as he was driving home on Elkins Road in Cairo.  The 16-year-old high school student was going around a curve when he apparently lost control of his Dodge Charger and hit a large tree.  The car became engulfed in flames.  The police said slick roads may have played a role in the crash.

Fatal Louisville, KY Collision
One person died and five others were injured in a Monday afternoon accident on KY 70 near Louisville, KY.  A car traveling westbound apparently veered into the westbound lanes into the path of a Nissan Titan. The driver of the Titan was unable to avoid the collision and the two vehicles hit head-on.  The driver of the car died at the scene.  The driver and the four passengers of the Titan were all injured – two seriously. The investigation is ongoing.
