The cause of the accident, that shut down the freeway for over an hour on Sunday, is still being investigated.
Train/Car Collide in Durham, North Carolina
A CSX freight train collided with a Toyota Camry around 10:30a.m. Thursday after the driver of the car drove around the lowered crossing arm. The woman escaped injury when the train struck the front corner panel of the car. The accident occurred at NC. 54 near N.C. 55 in Durham, North Carolina. The accident is under investigation.
Costa Mesa Car Accident Injures Two
In a Thursday morning car crash in Costa Mesa, California two people suffered serious injuries and were taken to a Santa Ana trauma center. The accident occurred on southbound 55 Freeway near Fair Drive blocking the lanes for 45 minutes.
Alcohol was a Factor in a Serious Ohio Accident Injuring Three Teenagers
After driving through a stop sign and striking a utility pole, three teenagers were critically injured in the Monday night car accident. The two passengers in the car were hospitalized in critical condition at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Investigators say alcohol was a factor in the accident and charges may be filed. Locals are planning to step up their efforts to educate young drivers to the dangers of the road.
Car Crashes into Snow Plow in Pennsylvania
A Pennsylvania Dept. of Transportation plow truck was struck by a Chevrolet Cavalier on Route 322 in East Fairfield Township, Crawford County on Thursday morning. The driver of the car, who apparently did not see the truck, was taken to the Meadville Medical Center where she was listed in stable condition. The highway was closed for more than 2 hours due to the accident.
