Teen Pulled From Burning Car after Fiery Crash In N.Y.
One teen is dead and four are injured following a Wednesday night crash in Rush, N.Y. Speed is suspected in the crash where the vehicle overturned and caught fire. One man heard the car go by, and then heard the crash. He rushed to the scene in his truck and was able to pull one girl out by cutting her seatbelt, saving her life. All she remembers of the incident is swerving, panicking, and calling her mom to tell her she had been in an accident. Most of the five teens grew up together.
Iowa Man Killed In Head-On Collision
A 61-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident on I-80 Wednesday night when a van crossed over the median and crashed with his Chevy HHR, reports the Newton Daily News. The driver and the two passengers were injured and taken to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. The cause of the incident is still under investigation. All parties were wearing their seatbelts.
Mother Files Lawsuit Over College Student’s Death
The Southeastern Texas Record reports the mother of a college student killed on Dec. 10, 2010 has filed a lawsuit against Thompson Transportation Inc. The mother alleges the driver of the semi failed to yield the right of way at an intersection and the student was unable to stop his vehicle. He collided with the passenger side of the tractor-trailer.
Ocean Township, NJ Site of Head-On Collision
Part of Route 66 West had to be closed for hours following a head-on collision on Wednesday night. According to witnesses, a red Mustang pulled out of Applebee’s parking lot and collided with a Dodge at about 9:15 p.m. The woman in the Mustang had to be extricated from her car and was taken to the hospital. The driver of the Dodge was uninjured reports the Asbury Park Press.
