Four Men Die in Christmas Day Car Crash

Police suspect speeding during suboptimal conditions to be the cause of crash

Deadly Maine Accident Leaves Four Dead
A tragic Christmas Day car crash in Palermo, Maine, left four men dead – two brothers in one vehicle, and a man and his father-in-law in another.  The Bangor Daily News reports the two brothers were traveling on Route 3 in an SUV that apparently lost control and skidded sideways into the path of the other car, which struck the SUV broadside. All four men died at the scene.  Police are continuing to investigate, but believe the SUV was traveling too fast for conditions after a light snow dusted the roadway.  The brothers were aged 18 and 21-years-old.  The two men were 64 and 83-years-old. 

Two Teens Die in Florida Accident
Two teenagers, both 18-years-old, died in a Sunday evening car crash in Bradenton, FL, according to My Fox Tampa Bay.  The two were traveling on SR 64 when another vehicle hit the pickup in which the two were riding.  The Florida Highway Patrol reports neither of the men was wearing a seat belt. The driver of the other vehicle was cited for violating the right-of-way.

KY Driver Faces Multiple Charges After Accident
The Lexington Herald-Leader reports a Richmond, KY man faces a string of charges including driving under the influence (fourth offense), driving on a DUI-suspended license, and resisting arrest after being involved in a single-car accident Tuesday night. The man was still behind the wheel of his car after crashing on Hal Rogers Parkway near London when the police arrived.  The man spit at the officer when asked to take a sobriety test. The policeman tasered the man and took him to the Laurel County Jail. 

Woman Injured in PA After Car Rolls Down Embankment
A single-car accident in Hickory Township, PA left one woman injured after her car rolled down a 30-foot embankment.  The woman was trapped inside her car for nearly 3o minutes after she lost control of her car, struck a tree then went off the road and down the hill.  The rescue workers had to remove the driver-side door to remove the woman.  Police are continuing to investigate the accident but say weather may be to blame.
