Texas Accident Kills Four Teenagers, Injures Two
A Wise County, Texas two-car collision took the lives of four teenagers and seriously injured two others. The 17-year-old driver of a Ford Mustang traveling southbound on Farm Road 730 near Decatur, around 3:15am Saturday morning, attempted to pass a vehicle in a no-passing zone when the car crashed into a northbound Ford F-350 pickup truck. Although both vehicles swerved to avoid the collision they swerved into a ditch and collided. Four passengers in the Mustang died, the driver of the Mustang remains hospitalized in critical condition, and the driver of the pickup was being treated for non life-threatening injuries.
Man at Wrong Place at Wrong Time Dies in Alcohol-Fueled Road Rage Incident
A man that had left his house Sunday afternoon to run errands was killed by a drunk driver who was also experiencing road rage at the time. A man driving a Hyundai SUV was angry after he alleged another vehicle had cut him off on I-405 outside Kirkland, WA. He then took the Northeast 85th street exit where he lost control of his vehicle and ended in the westbound lanes slamming into the BMW of the man on his way to Costco. The driver of the BMW, who was not involved in the road rage incident, was pronounced dead at the scene – he left behind a wife and two young children. The SUV driver was charged with vehicular homicide, and driving under the influence. His BAC level was .328. He is out of jail on a $50,000 bail.
Ohio Woman Injured in Three-Car Accident
A three-car accident Friday night on I-77 outside Bolivar, Ohio left both southbound lanes shut down for several hours as police cleared the accident scene. Traffic had slowed as a heavy downpour hit the area. The driver of a Honda CRV began slowing when a Trail Blazer slammed into her from behind causing her vehicle to strike a third vehicle and flip upside down. The Trail Blazer ended up in the median. The driver of the Trail Blazer was charged with failure to maintain an assured clear distance. The CRV driver was the only person injured.
Fatal St. Louis Accident Sends Three to the Hospital
An accident Friday night near St. Louis left one woman dead and three others seriously injured. A Pontiac Grand Prix was traveling north on I-255 onto the I-270 ramp when the car started to shake and the driver touched her brakes sending the vehicle off the road to the right. The driver over-corrected by turning left, then crossed both lanes of traffic, and “struck the face of the guardrail on the west side of the roadway.” Of the driver and the three passengers in the vehicle only two were wearing their seatbelts. The deceased was not wearing her seatbelt and was partially ejected. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
