The crash occurred around 9:30 a.m. on I-95 northbound near mile marker 12 in Ridley Township. According to Pennsylvania State Police, a fully loaded tractor-trailer failed to slow down for traffic that had backed up due to construction work ahead.

The truck struck a Honda Pilot SUV from behind, crushing the rear portion of the vehicle. Two passengers in the back seat of the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV was transported to Crozer-Chester Medical Center with serious injuries.

The truck driver was not injured in the crash. Initial investigations indicate the driver may have been distracted at the time of the collision.

The crash occurred around 8:45 a.m. on Route 28 northbound near the 40th Street Bridge in the Strip District. According to Pennsylvania State Police, a pickup truck rear-ended a compact car that had slowed due to heavy traffic conditions.

The impact caused the compact car to be pushed into the concrete median barrier. The driver of the compact car was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger in the compact car was transported to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck was also transported to Allegheny General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and had to be towed from the scene.

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA — Four Dead, One Survivor in Fiery Route 924 Crash

LUZERNE COUNTY, PA (July 7, 2025) — Four people died and one was critically injured early Sunday morning when a BMW crashed and caught fire on Route 924 in Hazle Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA (June 5, 2025) — Three people died and another person was injured in a car crash following a police chase on June 3 in Limerick Township.

According to emergency officials, the accident occurred on Ridge Pike near Sunset Road around 9:15 p.m. Limerick Township Police say they were pursuing the car before the crash.

The District Attorney’s office said the police were responding to a “potential theft” at Target on Ridge Pike when the police chase began. When the police tried to stop the car, the driver and three passengers fled. A few minutes later, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed on Ridge Pike, flipping the car over multiple times.

Three 17-year-olds were pronounced dead at the scene. A 15-year-old was rushed to an area hospital in an unknown condition.
