FAYETTE COUNTY — Woman Killed, Man Injured After Car Crashes into Gas Station Sign on Route 40 PA

FAYETTE COUNTY, PA (March 19, 2025) —  A car crashed into a Kwik Fill gas station sign in Menallen Township early Tuesday, March 18.

Fayette’s Coroner declared the passenger dead, while the driver was transported to the local hospital. His condition remains unknown.

The crash occurred a little before 2 a.m. on National Pike, just outside Uniontown near the mall. 

A neighbor reported that the motor of the vehicle came out of the car and was “clear across the parking lot.” 

Pennsylvania State Troopers continue to investigate.

Lackawanna County, PA – School Bus Crash Hospitalizes 16 in Jefferson Township

LACKAWANNA COUNTY, PA (March 17, 2025) —— A school bus carrying a bagpipe music group collided with a semi-truck, sending 16 people to the hospital in Jefferson Township Sunday night.

The school bus carrying 21 people landed on the back of a truck at 6:15 p.m. along Mount Cobb Road. The bus was coming off Interstate 84 Westbound when it crashed into the back of a flatbed truck. No one was inside the truck at the time of the accident. 

Officials say the bus driver was entrapped and had to be freed by EMS crews. The Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Company reported that numerous other fire departments and EMS crews from the surrounding communities were dispatched to the scene for assistance.

Sixteen people were transported to various local hospitals, one in serious condition. The status of the rest of the victims is not currently known.  […]

Monroe County, PA – Foggy Weather Blamed For Fatal Car Crash

MONROE COUNTY, PA (March 16, 2025)  – Two people had died following a motor vehicle crash in Monroe County on March 15.

According to news reports, The car was hit by an oncoming vehicle when it was making a left turn off State Route 115 South in Tunkhannock Twp. The two passengers had died in the accident. The driver of the vehicle was injured and rushed to the hospital.

Authorities noted that visibility at the time of the accident was poor due to fog.

Police are investigating the accident.

Driver Rescued From Crash With School Bus in Lancaster County

LANCASTER COUNTY, PA (March 13, 2025) —— A school bus and car wrecked this morning, demolishing the car.

According to local media, the wreck occurred at Valley Road/Route 372 and May Post Office Road in Eden Township at 6:54 a.m.

One person was trapped inside the car when the Quarryville Fire Company arrived. Rescue crew removed the car doors to free them, and reported the passenger sustained minor injuries.

At this time it remains unclear if any students were aboard the bus and to which district it belongs.

Schuylkill County, PA – Truck Driver Hit After Leaving Truck on I-81

What percentage of work zone related accidents involve large trucks?

SCHUYLKILL COUNTY, PA (March 12, 2025) – A truck driver who had gotten out of his vehicle on Interstate 81 was hit by another vehicle in Schuylkill County on Monday.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, the man was driving a 1994 Freightliner south when he was rear-ended near the Mahanoy Township exit of I-81 around 6 a.m. on March 10.

The truck driver had gotten out of his vehicle and was standing in the middle of the southbound lanes when he was hit by another vehicle.

Both the truck driver and the driver of the vehicle that hit him were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police are investigating the accident.
