LEHIGH VALLEY, PA – Two Tractor-Trailers Crash on Northeast Extension on PA Turnpike

LEHIGH VALLEY, PA  (April 16, 2025) —— Two tractor-trailers in Lehigh County collided on Tuesday, April 16. 

A Northeast Extension on the Pennsylvania Turnpike was obstructed, closing the highway for several hours. The crash happened in the northbound lanes between the Quakertown and Lehigh Valley exits.

Crews were dispatched to the burning collision site around 2 p.m. 

Police continue to investigate. All roads have reopened.

LUZERNE COUNTY — ATV Crash on I-80 in Sugarloaf Twp.

LUZERNE COUNTY (April 15, 2025) — A side-by-side off-road vehicle or ATV rolled down an embankment and caught on fire in Sugarloaf Township on Monday, April 14.

First responders were dispatched around 1:43 a.m. to Interstate 80 West near mile marker 249.

Sugarloaf Fire Chief reported that there is a road in Nescopeck Township that dead ends in that area, from which they likely originated.  The side-by-side rolled down from a hill to the Interstate highway, down a steep rock embankment.

The two victims sustained injuries and burns. Valley Regional Medic/Valley Regional Fire and Rescue EMS arrived on scene and started patient care before the fire department. The victims were then transported to a hospital by Life Flight.

Investigations continue.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY — One Dead After Tractor-Trailer & Construction Equipment Crash on Route 581

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, PA. (April 14, 2025) — A construction worker died after a tractor-trailer crashed into two construction vehicles on Pennsylvania Route 581 on Monday, April 14.

The crash happened around 4:39 a.m. at mile marker 5. All eastbound lanes near Exit 3 have been shut down.

A tractor-trailer driving crossed into the right lane, which had been closed for construction. The tractor-trailer proceeded to strike two construction vehicles, killing a construction worker.

Emergency responders were dispatched, transporting two construction workers to a hospital for injuries. One worker was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

The tractor-trailer driver was not injured. 

Investigations continue.

WILLIAMSPORT, PA — Man Killed in Route 220 crash, Two Others Injured

LOCK HAVEN, PA (March 20, 2025) ——   One person was killed and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Route 220, on Wednesday, April 9. 

State police and other emergency responders were dispatched at 6:30 p.m. All three victims were trapped in their vehicles.

A driver was traveling south in the northbound lane. He hit another car, killing its passenger.

He was pronounced dead at UPMC Lock Haven, after being taken by helicopter.

Both the drivers of the cars were hospitalized with injuries.

 All roads have reopened. Pennsylvania State police continue to investigate.
