Two Die in Truck Crash in Lehigh County, PA

Two people died, and four were injured in a tractor-trailer accident in Upper Saucon Township, PA, on December 9. According to news reports, the crash occurred before 5 a.m. on Interstate 78 eastbound, approximately one mile past exit 60 for Route 309 South/Quakertown.

Police reports say three people were trying to push a minivan out of the right lane of travel when a tractor-trailer allegedly hit the minivan before hitting another truck. One of the people pushing the minivan was killed, as well as the driver of the truck that struck the car. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

I-78 eastbound was closed to traffic for hours as the Pennsylvania State Police and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office investigated the accident.

Two People Die in Fiery Car Crash in Bradford County, PA

Two people died in a car accident along Route 14 in South Creek Township in Bradford County, PA, on December 7. According to WNEP, first responders and the Bradford County Coroner’s Office were called to the two-car crash near the New York border. News reports state that one of the vehicles was engulfed in flames.

According to the coroner’s office, the driver was driving southbound on Route 14 when the car crossed the opposite lane and collided with a northbound truck.

Both the driver and her passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the truck did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

Route 14 was shut down for hours as emergency personnel investigated the wreck. It was reopened later that day.

Woman Dies After Head-On Crash on the PA Turnpike in Luzerne County

A 65-year-old woman died after a wrong-way car crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Luzerne County on November 29. According to state police, the woman had succumbed to her injuries after the Nissan she was riding in was hit head-on by another vehicle that entered the Turnpike in the wrong direction.

News reports state the driver traveling northbound had merged onto the Turnpike at the interchange’s southbound ramp and hit the Nissan a short distance up the ramp. The other driver was cited for driving in the wrong direction.

The driver of the Nissan was also injured and hospitalized.

Man Dies After Colliding With a Garbage Truck in Lycoming County, PA

A fatal crash occurred in the morning hours of November 29 when a vehicle collided with a garbage truck on U.S. Highway 15 in Clinton Township, Lycoming County. According to news reports, the incident took place around 5:30 a.m. just south of the McNett Road intersection, as the garbage truck was attempting to perform a U-turn on the southbound lanes.

Fatal Pedestrian Accident Claims Life on Route 309 in Wilkes-Barre

A tragic incident occurred on November 26 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, when a pedestrian lost his life after being struck by a vehicle on Route 309. The accident occurred shortly before 7 pm near a busy commercial area where the highway intersects with the Home Depot entrance ramp.
