LEHIGH VALLEY – Trucker Killed in Tree Removal Accident

LEHIGH VALLEY, PA  (May 23, 2025) —— A tow truck operator was killed when several tree logs fell and struck him in the head in Weisenberg Township on Wednesday, May 21.

The New York man was operating an excavator, picking up and removing fallen trees. The excavator rotated with a tree in the machine, causing him to be struck by logs.

He was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest. He was pronounced dead at 9:49 a.m.

LEHIGH VALLEY, PA – Two Tractor-Trailers Crash on Northeast Extension on PA Turnpike

LEHIGH VALLEY, PA  (April 16, 2025) —— Two tractor-trailers in Lehigh County collided on Tuesday, April 16. 

A Northeast Extension on the Pennsylvania Turnpike was obstructed, closing the highway for several hours. The crash happened in the northbound lanes between the Quakertown and Lehigh Valley exits.

Crews were dispatched to the burning collision site around 2 p.m.

LEHIGH VALLEY, PA — One Motorcyclist Killed by Wrong-Way Driver in PA Turnpike Crash

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA  (March 31, 2025) ——  One man was killed and one was hospitalized in a multi-motorcycle wreck with a car on Sunday, March 30.

The crash occurred near mile-marker 67 and police were dispatched around 9 a.m.

A driver in a car was driving south in the northbound lanes, when she collided with two motorcycles. They had been riding with four others, who were not hit. Police are investigating why the woman was in the wrong lane, but the death was ruled an accident.

One of the motorcyclists was transported to the hospital. The other was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police continue to investigate. All roads have reopened.

NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, PA (March 5, 2025) —— A car crash in Easton occurred on March 2, leading to the hospitalization of one person.

NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, PA (February 21, 2025) – Weather may have played a role in a deadly car accident on Route 33 in Northampton County on February 20.

According to officials, the crash occurred just after 4:22 p.m. near the Belfast exit on Route 33 in Bushkill Township. The car went off the road and slammed into a tree.

The Northampton County coroner was called to the scene of the accident.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, the snowfall had turned heavy at that time and had caught many drivers off guard.

LEHIGH COUNTY (January 5, 2025) – A female driver was ejected from her vehicle after crashing into the median along Interstate 78 in Lower Macungie Township on January 5.

According to news reports, the accident occurred just before 12:15 a.m. at mile marker 54.1 in Lower Macungie. The woman was driving south along Route 309 and had attempted to merge onto I-78 east. She then struck the center median, causing her to be ejected from the car. The vehicle came to rest on the west side of the highway when a tractor-trailer driver struck the vehicle, causing a secondary crash.

The woman was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest for treatment. The truck driver was not injured.

Northampton County – Two Injured Following a Head-On Crash

NORTHHAMPTON COUNTY (December 23, 2024) – Two people suffered severe injuries after a head-on car accident in Stockertown, Northampton County, on December 22. Lehigh County, PA – Two Die in Truck Crash

Two people died, and four were injured in a tractor-trailer accident in Upper Saucon Township, PA, on December 9. According to news reports, the crash occurred before 5 a.m. on Interstate 78 eastbound, approximately one mile past exit 60 for Route 309 South/Quakertown.

Police reports say three people were trying to push a minivan out of the right lane of travel when a tractor-trailer allegedly hit the minivan before hitting another truck. One of the people pushing the minivan was killed, as well as the driver of the truck that struck the car. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

I-78 eastbound was closed to traffic for hours as the Pennsylvania State Police and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office investigated the accident.
