Lackawanna County, PA – Boy Dies After ATV Crashes Into an SUV
CARBONDALE TOWNSHIP, PA (March 11, 2025) — A 13-year-old boy driving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) crashed into a sport utility vehicle (SUV) on the night of Monday, March 10.
The boy was reportedly driving on Electric Street when he crashed into the other vehicle, according to the Lackawanna Coroner. He became trapped under the SUV and the three people inside the car lifted it off of him.
At 8 PM, shortly after being rushed to Geisinger Community Medical Center, he succumbed to his injuries. The passengers in the SUV were also hospitalized and their conditions remained unknown.
The crash is under investigation.

Lackawanna County, PA – Pedestrian Struck By Car Near I-81 South Ramp
LACKAWANNA COUNTY, PA (February 26, 2025) – A man was struck by a car near an I-81 South exit ramp in Scranton on February 26.
According to news reports, emergency crews responded to the intersection of the I-81 South ramp and Main Avenue around 7 a.m after a 63-year-old man was hit by a car while crossing the street.
The man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. He later died at the hospital.
The crash is under investigation.

Lackawanna County, PA – Man Died after Car Accident in Roaring Brook Twp.
LACKAWANNA COUNTY, PA (February 16, 2025) – One man died following a car accident in Roaring Brook Township on February 15.
According to news reports, the 18-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on State Route 435 in Roaring Brook Twp. shortly after 5 a.m. Authorities believe the driver had rolled over into the woods.
Other people were in the vehicle at the time of the accident and suffered injuries.
The crash is under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police.

Lackawanna County, PA – Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit By an SUV in Scranton
LACKAWANNA COUNTY, PA (December 27, 2024) – A man died after being hit by an SUV in Lackawanna County on Christmas Eve. According to news reports, the man was fatally struck at around 10:30 pm on December 24 in the 800 block of Providence Road in Scranton. The driver of the SUV fled the accident scene but was later arrested.
The pedestrian was taken to Geisinger CMC ED and shortly died soon after, according to the Lackawanna County Coroner.
The Scranton Police Department is currently investigating the fatal accident. It is unknown how the accident occurred.
