MI Accident Kills Five in Wrong-Way Collision
In a tragic, fiery crash in Detroit, MI early Sunday morning, five people died when a driver traveling the wrong-way on the M-10 crashed head-on into another vehicle. An SUV carrying four people and a passenger car, with just the driver in the car, slammed into each other causing both cars to erupt into flames killing the occupants of both vehicles. Police are unsure of the cause of the accident and do not know which car was traveling the wrong way. The northbound lanes of the highway were shut down for nearly six hours.
Two Die in Multi-Vehicle FL Accident
NorthEscambia.com reports that a Friday morning accident on I-10 near Pensacola, FL took the lives of one adult and a child. The multi-vehicle accident occurred when a pickup truck rear-ended a delivery truck. A third vehicle, an SUV, attempted to miss the accident when the driver lost control of the SUV causing it to overturn and roll over into a wooded area. Two of the passengers in the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene. Five others were injured in the accident. The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate.
CA Teen Injured in Hit-and-Run
A Salinas, CA teenager was injured in a hit-and-run accident Tuesday evening. The 17-year-old was in a crosswalk walking to after-school wrestling practice when the driver of a van drove through the crosswalk. The van hit the teen and drug him several feet down the road before driving off, causing head trauma and a broken leg to the teen. Police are asking for help in finding the van and driver.
Kansas State College Student Dies in Single-Car Accident
A senior pre-med student died this weekend in a single-car accident, according to the K-State Collegian, when returning from a concert in Wichita over the weekend. Few details are available in the accident where the driver of the vehicle apparently fell asleep at the wheel. The driver is currently in a coma at a local hospital.
