Man Charged with Vehicular Assault, DWI in Motorcycle Crash
A Montour Falls, NY man was charged with vehicular assault when he hit and injured a motorcyclist while driving drunk. The accident occurred Friday after the drunk driver turned into the path of a motorcycle at College Avenue and Turner Park in Montour Falls. The motorcyclist sustained a serious leg injury and was airlifted to Robert Sayre Hospital. In addition to the first-degree vehicular assault charge, the driver was also charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to yield the right of way and failure to keep right.
Drug-Impaired Driver Charged in Accident
A New York woman was charged with driving while impaired by drugs, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and various other traffic violations after crashing her car into several road signs on Thursday. The driver suffered minor injuries when she crashed after driving erratically and swerving off and back on the road in Clymer, NY. The driver suffered minor injuries.
Lubbock Accident Injures 6
A Tuesday night accident in Lubbock, Texas has left six young adults injured, several serious. The driver of an SUV, who just graduated from high school, lost control of his vehicle northbound on I-27, and crossed the median into the southbound lanes where it was struck by another vehicle. Lubbock Police say the accident closed down I-27 for more than 2 hours. The accident remains under investigation, although police do not believe alcohol or excessive speed were factors in the crash.
Two War Veterans Crash in CA – One Dies
Two Korean War veterans collided in an auto accident on Memorial Day in West Central Fresno, California after participating in a Memorial Day event. One of the drivers, an 81-year-old veteran, ran the stop sign at Olive and Blythe and was struck by a pickup truck that could not stop as the car entered the intersection. The 81-year-old died while being transported to the hospital.
