VA Accident Kills Three, Injures Four
According to the Roanoke Times, a Jeep Cherokee carrying four people crashed head-on into a Plymouth van carrying three people Saturday afternoon in Bedford, VA leaving three people dead and four injured. The Jeep was heading eastbound on Virginia 24 when it crossed the center line striking the westbound van. The driver and front passenger of the Jeep died; the other two passengers were air lifted to a nearby hospital. The front passenger of the van died; the driver and another passenger were taken to a local hospital.
Fatal Accident in FL on I-95
First Coast News reports an early morning accident on Wednesday closed down northbound lanes on I-95 near US 1 and SR 206 in St. Johns County, Florida. Although details are unclear, apparently a pickup truck flipped several times after crashing into another vehicle. The two occupants of the truck were ejected. One was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was air lifted to the local hospital. The occupant of the other vehicle was not injured. Police are still investigating.
Two Die in FL Head-On Accident
A three-car accident in Goshen, FL on Tuesday afternoon resulted in the death of two people, according to the Times Herald-Record. A woman driving a car northbound on Route 17A crossed the center line slamming head-on into a southbound car. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. The third car attempted to avoid the accident, but struck the northbound vehicle. That driver was not injured. There were no other occupants in the vehicles.
Drowsy Driver Walks Away Uninjured
A man traveling on I-90 in Springfield Township at the PA/OH state line escaped injury Sunday when he dozed off while driving. The man apparently fell asleep while driving causing his car to travel through the median through loose dirt, re-enter the highway and cross the westbound lanes before going down an embankment and finally, striking a tree. The man was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured.
