LACKAWANNA COUNTY — Dickson City Concilman Dies in Head-On Crash

LACKAWANNA COUNTY, PA (May 26, 2025) – A Dickson City councilman has died following a head-on car collision in South Abington Township on May 25.

According to news reports, emergency crews responded after two cars collided head-on along North State Street just after 8 p.m.

Police confirmed that the councilman had died in the wreck. The other driver was seriously injured and remains hospitalized. North State Street was shut down for about two hours as emergency crews investigated the crash; no word on how the accident occurred.

LEHIGH VALLEY – Trucker Killed in Tree Removal Accident

LEHIGH VALLEY, PA  (May 23, 2025) —— A tow truck operator was killed when several tree logs fell and struck him in the head in Weisenberg Township on Wednesday, May 21.

The New York man was operating an excavator, picking up and removing fallen trees. The excavator rotated with a tree in the machine, causing him to be struck by logs.

He was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest. He was pronounced dead at 9:49 a.m.

Police  continue to investigate.

LANCASTER COUNTY — Car Crash Blocking Route 222 is Cleared

MANHEIM TOWNSHIP, PA (May 20, 2025) —— A ramp on Route 222 was closed, due to a crash on Monday, May 19 in Lancaster.

Lancaster County emergency crews were dispatched to the scene.

Responders were sent to the southbound side of the route near the interchange with Route 30. The ramp from Route 222 southbound to Route 30 westbound was blocked by the scene of the crash.

The cause and number of vehicles involved remains unknown.

Officials continue to investigate.

WILKES-BARRE, PA (May 19, 2025) ——  A man died on Sunday, May 18 after a car crash in Wilkes-Barre.

The Luzerne County reported to the scene of a crash along Hazle Street near Hill Street. They were dispatched just before 6 a.m. 

The vehicle veered off the road, colliding with a tree. The driver, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigations continue.

CARBON COUNTY – Truck Driver Dies in I-80 Collision

CARBON COUNTY, PA (May 18, 2025) – A man had died in a single-vehicle accident while driving a tractor-trailer in Carbon County on May 16.

According to news report, the 23-year-old truck driver was driving on I-80 east in Kidder Township when he struck multiple tree in the center median around 8 a.m.

The Carbon County Coroner pronounced him dead on the scene. No word on what caused the truck accident.
