What Is an Accident Report?

An Accident Report (or Incident Report) is an official record that provides a detailed and accurate account of an event, such as an accident, injury, or near miss, that occurred in a specific location, usually within an organization or workplace. They are created on-site by an authority figure such as a police officer or a hospital staff member.

These reports contain information such as details of the specified accident, analysis of factual data, conclusions and probable cause of the accident, and in some cases, related safety recommendations.
